CARINA HARNEY ROGERSON

ABIA

MANAGING DIRECTOR, ANTIGUA

Carina Harney-Rogerson believes architecture begins with listening. It’s a skill she’s fine-tuned to a science. She hones in on what clients truly want, then re-imagines those ideas into designs that exceed their expectations. Born and raised in Antigua, Carina’s love for architecture was encouraged by her mother, who would take her to see friends’ homes and help her land summer jobs with architects. She is an expert in residential design and a trusted resource for design projects in remote, sensitive areas.

Carina has a bachelor’s degree in architecture from the University of Miami. She’s a Registered Architect in Antigua and Barbuda, and a member of the Antigua and Barbuda Institute of Architects (ABIA). Carina joined OBMI in 1996, concentrating primarily on residential design, construction documentation, and project management.

In 2006, she was appointed Managing Director and has led a wide array of luxury residential, commercial, and hotel/resort projects, including the Fort Young Hotel in Dominica, the Sagicor Cedar Valley Development, Carlisle Bay Resort, and Pineapple Beach Resort – all in Antigua. She’s a board member of the British Virgin Islands Chamber of Commerce and Hotel Association (BVICCHA).

“One of my favourite projects is the Antigua & Barbuda Department of Marine Services and Merchant Shipping headquarters, which blends modern design with great environmental sensitivity. Handling the interior design as well gives me the chance to extend the architectural vision into even more tangible details.”
