"I enjoy when people learn and are connected to opportunities for success. It’s the greatest feeling and gift you can give; to equip someone else with resources and knowledge that allow them to grow in ways they may have never thought imaginable."

Denaye Hinds

LEED AP, BD + C

Director of Corporate Development

Sustainable tourism and project management represent a professional sweet spot for Denaye. She speaks frequently about sustainable tourism planning and how our work helps island nations turn strategic thinking into tourism dollars. Denaye is a civil and environmental engineer, but her role at OBMI touches everything from corporate structure to design and team education. She serves as a bridge between the operational and creative sides of our business, ensuring staff in every office remain informed and coordinated.

As the joint head of OBMI’s Green Matters studio, Denaye also leads our sustainability sector initiatives. She is a published author and a frequent speaker and panelist for sustainability and sustainable tourism events. She's the president of the Caribbean Alliance for Sustainable Tourism (CAST) and past president of the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) Miami chapter.

Born in Bermuda, Denaye earned a bachelor’s degree in civil and environmental engineering from Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University in Tallahassee, Florida and a Master in Construction Management degree from Florida International University. She’s a LEED-accredited professional (LEED AP)), a Green Globe Accredited Auditor, and Ygrene-certified PACE consultant. Both on the job and off, Denaye loves crafting educational programs. She’s also an active volunteer who often develops resources for children's programs, events, and curriculum.
