"Architects pride themselves on being creatives, but I love the business side, too. When the business is running well, it allows our designers to be better designers."

Liora Haymann

Managing Director - United States (Corporate Office)

Liora’s ideal world lies at the intersection of design, business, and strategy. She connects the dots at OBMI – designing and facilitating our interactive workshops with clients and partners, managing staff, clearing roadblocks, and ensuring projects move forward on time and on budget. Liora’s influence keeps OBMI striving for excellence, a value she communicates in five different languages: English, Spanish, German, Hebrew, and French.

As the joint head of the OBMI Destination Creation studio, Liora oversees the professional staff in Miami and coordinates with the firm’s worldwide offices. Her vast international expertise in urban design and planning stems from a keen interest in the cities, cultures, and environments affected by architecture. Liora began her professional career in Chile, where she ran her own practice and directed landmark projects for public and private clients. In Miami, Liora launched a strategic business development consultancy for design, urban planning, and tourism that bridged Latin American and U.S. markets. She joined OBMI in 2006.

Liora holds a professional degree in architecture from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and a Master of Science in Architecture with a focus on urban design from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. She is a Chilean Registered Architect, an international associate of the American Institute of Architects (AIA). Outside of the office, Liora practices 5Rhythms and teaches Iyengar yoga as a licensed instructor. She’s also an ex-competitive skier and an active publisher.
