"Working at different sites around the world has provided inspiration for me – and a chance to expand my design skills. While working on a high-rise residential project in Malaysia, I had to "re-learn" some aspects of space planning to effectively solve design challenges."

Mikhail Chin

PMP, AIA, LEED AP, NCARB

Senior Architect

An aptitude for drawing and an early fascination with how objects are put together steered Mikhail toward a career in architecture. Her work at OBMI is design-focused but also leans heavily on strategic planning and organization for complex projects. Her keen interest in technology has also turned her into our resident researcher, tester and advocate to ensure OBMI is always a step ahead of the latest and greatest architectural tools.

Mikki manages Cayman Islands projects and works closely with clients and consultants, all while ensuring the design workflows efficiently into construction. She also leads OBMI’s Digital Design Group. Whether she’s creating 3D visualizations with Revit or ensuring our work meets building codes and standards across the U.S., India, and Malaysia, her attention to detail is second to none.

Mikki was educated in North America and the Caribbean, earning a bachelor’s degree in architecture from the University of Technology in Kingston, Jamaica and a Master of Architecture degree from the University of Miami. She is a Registered Architect (RA), LEED-accredited professional (LEED AP), and a member of both the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and the Project Management Institute (PMI). Mikki is also certified by the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB).
