"Collaborating with a small team to plan, design and build The Wave was amazing. We started with a few sketches and created something that's visible from space."

Neil Paterson

RIBA

Associate

Neil has an eye for proportion that provides a welcome balance between art and logic. It's a skill he honed as a child (his parents often woke to the sound of small hands raking through Lego bins) and has applied to large-scale OBMI projects such as The Wave – a beachfront residential community in Oman, inspired by the rich history of Muscat, and Bab al Madina in Tripoli, Libya.

As Architecture Design Leader for both the Urban Lifestyle and Destination Creation studios, Neil applies his broad international knowledge across all phases and sectors of architectural design. His project portfolio includes high-end residential and hospitality properties, marina villages, and urban mixed-use projects. Neil is a talented, refined designer who naturally builds enduring relationships.

Originally from Scotland, Neil studied at the Scott Sutherland School of Architecture in Aberdeen, and went on to practice in the U.K., Caribbean, and the U.S. He’s a Registered Architect in the U.K. and a member of the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA). Instead of building with Lego, Neil now spends his downtime creating sculptures, ceramics, and sketching.
