"When I was 12, I was watching an old, black-and-white TV sitcom. The characters on the show were having an architect design their home and I knew that was what I wanted to do. I read every book on Frank Lloyd Wright and was hooked for life."

Steven LaRusso

NCARB, LEED AP

Senior Project Director

During the past 40 years of directing projects, managing construction, and leading design work, Steven has tackled just about every architectural challenge imaginable. He uses those experiences to continue honing his craft – to become a better architect. Steven has extensive experience in hotel design and rich hospitality sector knowledge, but he has also worked on large commercial and residential projects throughout the U.S., Caribbean, China, and the Middle East. At OBMI, our clients benefit from his deep understanding of the functional relationships, operations, and infrastructure that underpin large hotels.

Steven has worked on many standout OBMI projects including private game lodge in South Africa (where he came face-to-face with a massive water buffalo), Al Akaria mixed-use development in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and private residential estate in Jeddah, KSA. He had a cross-continental education, studying architecture at the University of Miami in Florida and Mackintosh School of Architecture in Glasgow, Scotland. Steven is a Registered Architect in Florida and holds both NCARB and LEED certifications.
