British Caymanian Insurance had planned for organisational changes which required developing a new office interior design scheme. OBMI was asked to use their expertise in commercial design to create a floor plan for a space that would implement these new procedures smoothly. British Caymanian Insurance also requested the design of the working environment to incorporate design elements that reflected the true spirit of the Cayman Islands location, so the employees could better connect the firm’s local clientele.
OBMI designers worked on the project from its inception to construction administration, presenting a solution that now works beautifully with the updated business processes. The office interior design forms, colours and artwork featured have reiterated the company’s unique connection to the Cayman Islands landscape, above ground and underwater.
Resembling ocean waves, the ceilings and walls contour throughout the space. Reflecting tones of the Caribbean Sea, the walls and furniture display accent colours such as yellow, blue and green. The carefully selected an array of artwork depicts the Cayman underwater heritage throughout the area. Elements of the represent the company’s brand colors enhancing corporate culture and pride. The Caribbean Sea elements are re-established by the unique boat-shaped conference table.
